The room at Albergue Alto Da Pena was cozy and comfortable, with a seating area where I could relax and unwind after a long day. I loved the homely atmosphere, and having a washing machine and microwave in the room made my stay even more convenient. The shared bathroom was clean and well-maintained, and the wardrobe provided ample storage space for my belongings.
Personally, I found the shared bathroom to be a slight inconvenience, but others may not mind it at all.

It's conveniently located at a comfortable distance from Santiago, making it a great option for a day's walk. the highlight was waking up early the next morning to witness a breathtaking sunrise from the high pass, offering panoramic views. the staff at the albergue were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and spoke excellent English, which was a pleasant surprise. They organized communal dinners, allowing me to connect with fellow pilgrims and enjoy delicious food. the rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and efforts were made to ensure that no room was overcrowded. The staff was really nice and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. the shared dinner was a fun experience, allowing guests to socialize and enjoy a delicious meal together. The location was also ideal, directly on the Camino and in a beautiful setting, offering great views of the landscape.
The rooms were located in a separate facility further down the road, which was a disappointment after a long day of walking. the furniture in the room was old and the room itself was quite cold, even after the heater was turned on.

Gorgeous rural location, perfect for connecting with other pilgrims at communal dinner. Delicious food, great on-site restaurant and bar. Very clean and modern albergue, spacious and calm accommodation in the rectory. Friendly staff and owner, outstandingly clean. Amazing view of the valley and surrounding hills. Great location on the Camino, shortening a difficult day. Small and cosy with a garden and café. Excellent dinner, communal feel, super friendly hosts. Available early breakfast, personal showing of the way. Small dorms, free Wi-Fi, off-site parking, dryer, laundry. I would definitely go back!

The staff at this accommodation really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and provide exceptional service. the communal dinner was absolutely fantastic and offered great value for money. the beds in our spacious four-bed rooms were incredibly comfortable, and we loved having power points at each bed. the hand and machine washing facilities were excellent, with plenty of hanging space. the bar on site was a great gathering spot, offering delicious food and drinks, as well as a tasty breakfast option.
One aspect that was a bit disappointing was that the rooms were actually located a short distance away from the main facility. This wasn't a major problem, but after a long day of walking, it would have been nice to have the rooms closer.

I enjoyed hiking in the beautiful surroundings of the albergue and the bar and shared lounge were great places to relax after a tiring day. The garden and terrace also added to the pleasant atmosphere.
Oh, how I loved waiting for a cold shower and navigating the awkwardly placed safety rail while trying to climb down from my bunk bed. Such a delightful experience.

The hosts, Manuel and Jennifer, are incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food is excellent. They make you feel like you're staying in their home, not just a hostel. One of the best places I've stayed on the Camino.
Felt like home, no complaints.

The bathroom situation was inconvenient, as it was shared with all the dorm rooms, sometimes resulting in long waits and limited availability. the furniture in the rooms was old and the rooms were cold upon arrival.
